I am blessed.
This weekend was the most
fun I have had since my injury. What did I do, you ask? Well it started
on Friday. The boy and I drove to Kirsty's house and went swimming and
just hung out. Not planned, but we ended up staying the night. The pain
level in my knee only hit a total of 1 or 2 the whole evening. My back
is a slightly different story. Then on Saturday the boy and I got home
by 11, almost running out of gas. We walk in the front door and Patrick
says it's hot in this house we should go buy another fan. For the same
price as another "good" fan, we got another room a/c. Our house is now
comfortable, as it should be. Then Kirsty and family came down to our
house (in fact Jesse helped Patrick finish installing the a/c) and hung
out. Patrick and Jesse both drank, Kirsty and I had our normal movie
night. Incidentally, they ended up crashing at our house. The rest of
Sunday and Monday were not eventful.
Now you might say, "but
Christine, Friday and Saturday weren't that eventful either," but I
have to disagree. Being able to walk around my house without
hesitation, and being able to play with Abby without hesitation, become
such a success and so eventful that it feels like any other major event
in a normal persons life.
As I stated, I am having minor issues
with my back. Of course, my scars are itching. Definitely a good sign
of healing. However, there is a pain associated with and around the
scars. One of the actual scars has a loss of feeling to it; but
everywhere around it at times will hurt. My knee is trying to overpower
my stimulator. Last night as I was laying down for bed, all of a sudden
sharp shooting pain right into my knee, immediately started crying, and
immediately started fumbling for my remote. The moment I was able to
turn up the stimulation, was the moment I was able to stop crying. It
felt so nice to be able to make the pain stop like that.
Ok, enough rambling.
