Staples Removed Yeah!!!!

My doctor's appointment was yesterday. Before that, however, the staples in my back caused so much discomfort. One was even hanging out all wrong. So I removed it. Yep, by myself. Then I found 5 others that were causing the most discomfort and removed them too.

At my doctor's appointment, I informed him that my staples were not in good at all and that I had removed some. He took a look at them and said that even though they were causing me problems, the area and scars were looking good and healing up nicely. He said that because everything looked good he would be taking the rest of the staples out. I said good, and then told him that if he didn't that I would be going home and removing them myself because they all still hurt.

As he was removing them I got to tell him about my blog. He was intrigued and impressed by the sounds of it. He asked if it was RSD/CRPS related and I told him it was. I informed him that basically my blog followed the life and treatments of a person afflicted with this condition. I told him to go check it out. I think he might actually do that.

The true test will be when I get to start moving around the way that I want to. Right now while stuck in bed, I can decrease my pain pills because with the stimulator on and working, my pain level is pretty low. Yesterday however showed me that in doing too much I still hurt and still need the pills. Strengthening my muscles will become a high priority upon release from my bed. I was given permission to walk up and down my street and will be starting that this evening. I walk slow, but as long as I do it, I know it will help.

I left a message today for my primary care doctor today. It requested that my pain pills be reduced to the lower amount of 5/500 instead of the 10/325. The stimulator is great and I am enjoying it, while I am in bed. I cannot WAIT to see the true effects of this device. Approximately 42 days left.

In two weeks I see my doctor again. This time I will have the Boston Scientific people there so that I can get programmed. Programming includes me laying on the doctors exam table and the Boston Scientific person sitting beside me. Then with their computer they can adjust the stimulation to go higher up my leg and into my hip and back, or lower my leg directly onto my knee. Soon I will be buzzing ONLY on my knee smile_party - yes this idea makes me want to party!!!

On another note: my husband, who got a DUI back in 2000, is now completing the classes he was required to do back then. He has 3 classes left and I am so proud of him. He is not a class type of guy, and for him to be almost done, makes me excited. Now all we have to do is pay the fines he has. I am going to look into settling with the Franchise Tax Board. Hopefully we can get them to accept less as payment in full and then Hubby can get his license back. THEN I DON'T HAVE TO DRIVE ANYMORE - IT HURTS TOO BADLY.
